Education: Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance - 1993 - Appalachian State University - North Carolina. Master of Music in Piano Performance - Duquesne University - Pennsylvania. Contemporary Improvisation - 1996 to 1997 - New England Conservatory - Massachussets.

Experience: 1997 to 1998 - Boston Music Company. Taught a wide variety of students in private lessons ranging from beginner to intermediate piano and basic theory. Also incorporated required listening lists for students and scheduled live performances to attend with students. Students worked on a variety of literature including: J.S. Bach II Part Inventions, Chopin Preludes, and Nocturnes, Jazz Standards, and Blues and Rock. 1994 to 1996 - Volkwein Brothers, Inc. - Pittsburgh. Instructed students of wide and varying ages and at many different technical levels. Concentrated primarily on keyboard skills and basic music theory including: scale structure, key signatures, functional harmony and jazz harmony. Also encouraged students to improvise and compose within simple structures.

Awards: Recordings include: "Shapes" - solo piano improvisations and compositions. "Real Time" - DeChellis, Tomasic, and Nakatani Trio. "Chamber Music" - music for piano/voice/thermin/percussion/violin. "1-8 in 1" - Focus Quintet. "Red Room" - Chainworks. Performances include: Improvised and Otherwise Festival - New York City. Scullers Jazz Club - Boston. Payne Hall - Harvard University (as founding member of Boston Public Works). The Knitting Factory - New York City. Killian Hall - M.I.T. Jordan Hall - New England Conservatory - Boston. Appalachian State University - North Carolina. Duquesne University - Pittsburgh (as a guest composer witht the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble). Roulette - New York City. Balcony Jazz Club - Pittsburgh. The Big Sur Experimental Music Festival - California. Autumn Upsrising - Improvised - New Music Festival - Boston. On Radio: WFMU - New York City. WERS - Boston. WKCR - New York City Review.
