Educational Background: She is a graduate of the University of Houston and the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, where she studied with famed baritone Max van Egmond.

Experience: Ms. Spain has made solo appearances with the Dallas Symphony, New Mexico Symphony, Houston Symphony Chamber Players, Scandinavian Orchestra of Michigan, Peoria Symphony, Da Camera Society, and Houston Masterworks Chorus. She has performed with virtually all of the major early music ensembles in the Southwest. She is in constant demand as a specialist in Baroque performance practice. Ms. Spain has performed with outstanding chamber groups including London Baroque, Texas Baroque Ensemble, Early Music Ensemble of Kansas City, Houston Bach Society, and is a member of Ars Lyrica Houston. Together with a number of accomplished Houston instrumentalists, Ms. Spain founded and performs with two successful chamber ensembles; MOSIAC and Aquinas. She is also pleased to announce the formation of Ramo de Flores (Branch of Flowers), an ensemble comprised of four female voices which specializes in performing recently discovered Baroque music from the Conservatorio de las Rosas (Morelia, Mexico) founded in the seventeenth century. A versatile performer, Ms. Spain is well established in other genres including Broadway, Pop, Jazz, and Contemporary music. She has worked with nationally reknown composers David Ashley White, Michael Horvit, Art Gottschalk, Paul Cooper and well-known Canadian composer Ben Steinberg. Ms. Spain enjoys teaching both adults and children. She holds the title of Artist in Residence at the University of St. Thomas, and is the voice instructor and dialogue coach at HITS Theater in Houston.
