Rates: $30.00 per Hour.

Educational Background: Began training at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem, Israel. Earned a B.A. from Smith College, with a major in music. Also has an M.M. in violin performance from the UMKC Conservatory and from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Teachers include Lydia Mordokovich, Ben Sayevich, Piotr Milewski, Tiberius Klausner, and Kanako Ito.

Experience: Has over ten years of experience teaching violin. In addition to teaching in the private studio, has taught at the Continuing Education Department at UMKC. To supplement teaching, freelances as a violinist, working with own ensemble, Meadowlark Strings, and performs as a strolling violinist in restaurants in the area. Has been a substitute violinist with the Kansas City Symphony and toured Europe with Camerata Lawrence. Feels it is important for a teacher to maintain a profficiency in performance commensurate with the level of teaching.

Awards: Jerry Penzner Young Artist Showcase (first prize); UMKC Concerto-Aria Competition; Kansas City Musical Club (first prize); solos with the Pioneer Valley Orchestra, the Five-College Baroque Orchestra, and the CCM Ensemble for Eighteenth-Century Music.

Additional: Particularly enjoys working with junior-high and high-school kids, and always welcome adults.
