Educational Background: Was trained in classical violin at the Music School of Berlin, Germany, from the age of six. Finished in 1988 and later extended studies to improvisation and Klezmer music in numerous workshops. Has also studied music theory and piano.

Experience: Has been teaching violin in Portland, OR. for many years. Previously was part of the Chamber Orchestra of the Technical University Berlin, Germany for many years, as well as at the Heinrich-Hertz-School of Berlin. Spent many years in the orchestra of the Music School Berlin. Also gives solo concerts during which enjoys engaging in a musical dialogue with the audience and experimenting with combining violin and dance improvisation.

Additional: Enjoys teaching very much. Feels it is a pleasure to give knowledge to students and see them grow to become amazing musicians. Primary teaching style is to follow the natural talent and strengths of the student and to use those to teach the more challenging aspects of the violin. Combines classical teaching methods with inspirations from the Suzuki method as well as improvisation methods.
