Educational Background: Studied with Gordon Smith (former-Detroit Symphony) 1987, and Kevin Good (current-Detroit Symphony Orchestra) while attending the University of Michigan from 1988-2003.

Experience: Has performed with The Machito Orchestra at Chene Park, Los Munequitos De Matanzas at the Montreaux Detroit Jazz Festival, Verve Pipe at Pontiac's Phoenix Center and Pine Knob, and Francisco Mora, Marshall Allen (Sun Ra Arkestra), and Carl Craig (Planet-E) at the 2003 North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland. In March of 2004, performed at the Bern Jazz Festival in Switzerland with Blues Diva Bettye Lavette. In June of 2004, performed at the Import Music Festival and the ParaDisco in Holland with Theo Parrish and the Rotating Assembly (which features some of Detroit's finest musicians, vocalists, and DJ's).

Awards: The success of my band's (Jazzhead) self-titled debut recording, co-produced by ex-Parliament sideman and former Jazzhead regular Larry Fratangelo, earned my group 1999's Detroit Music Award for Best Jazz Recording; then for good measure, we tacked on that year's Detroit Music Award for Best Modern Jazz Group and the Detroit Music Award for Best Jazz Group Deserving Wider Recognition - which we also snatched in 1998. As well, we were nominated for Best Modern Jazz group in 1999 and 2000. And to top things off, we are also the proud recipients of the 2002 Detroit Music Award for Best Modern Jazz Group!
